Feedback from Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards 2022

 

This is a really clever and excellent work, I was very impressed. I think it would be an amazing experience to read The Odyssey and this work together, or right after each other. It would enhance the background and inspiration for the poems and they would land more fully for the reader. That might be a great piece of bonus content to offer but the collection is still really vivid and valuable as a separate piece. I liked the way the story of the poetry takes the sense of a vivid journey like in the Odyssey and makes it personal and relatable for things that we go through now. The intentional poetic style was also wonderful to read. It is a great demonstration of the creativity that is possible within the restrictions of certain forms. I think other poets will really enjoy reading this as an inspiration for the craft.
